Finding colour in a monochrome landscape

January 15, 2010

On this bleak farm road, the sky is bigger than in amongst the trees of the estate. There is an opalescence of pink and lavender grey in the thick cloud.

Low sun over a farm cottage, around a quarter to three, washes the sky with pale gold.

The feathery branches of birches make a soft aubergine smudge against the sky.
