Hah! Well, the delphiniums came up bigger than intended; but that suits them. Here on the hydrangea is the only kind of peacock welcome in the garden. I’m not a fan of the eerie screechy kind favoured by other big hooses. There are plenty of pheasants around to fill the ‘large silly bird’ category and, although they are still very scruffy at the moment, by October they will have grown their full shining plumage and will be as proud as any peacock.
