busy, back soon
We have been rushing about a bit recently. To give you a clue, my Tuesday tree would be this:
And tomorrow we are off to Holyrood for tea with the Queen! I hope to have a chance to sit down and write about some of our adventures soon.
Meanwhile, our scruffy Westie has a much more sensible response to the continuing filthy, cold, wet weather. Why rush about in it, when you could scrape together a pile of cushions on the sofa and spend the days in blissful indolence?
I hope that you are finding ways to enjoy your summer too, whatever the weather.
You might enjoy: We interrupt this blog to bring you the summer holidays.

Good to hear from you again. Tea with the Queen – I’m jealous. The closest I can get is tea in my Silver Jubilee mug. The weather here in Massachusetts has been gorgeous – warm/hot and sunny. I’ll be off to Newport Rhode Island soon to see the beach and the mansions. (But I’d still rather have tea with the Queen)
Thanks, Deb. I’m glad to hear that some people on the Eastern seaboard of the States are having lovely weather – we have heard some horror stories from further south. Tea with the Queen was lovely, though we were only two of hundreds and hundreds of guests and didn’t actually sit down for a gossip with Her Majesty! (Not that she ever seems to sit down.)
Hope the rain keeps away from Holyrood today (we have some sun here in Edinburgh just now), and you have a lovely time.
Thank you, we did. The weather behaved beautifully: it was warm and still, and the sun even appeared briefly, but not enough to cook the Archers in their heavy wool uniforms.
Glad the rain stayed off
Thunder and lightning just South of Edinburgh since 5pm. Hope you had a good time
I thought the sultry weather might break soon! No thunder here yet.
Still very warm here so get your brolly out for your morning walk
Look forward to your next pic
I’m trying to get back on track with blogging, though it may not seem like it just now! The odd pic here and there…
Hope you had a wonderful time! The heavens opened here in West Lothian so I hope your day was better. I just love the pic of your Westie!
Thank you, it was a lovely afternoon. Glad you like the Westie. He always managed to find himself the most comfortable spot (and my most prized cushions)!
I am so happy to see you blogging again. I got quite alarmed by your absence…almost wrote to you but it would have been a selfish invasion of privacy, just for my own satisfaction.
I am always stunned by the stamina of both the Queen and Prince Phillip.
That’s really sweet of you, Erika. My creative juices were running v thin, but I think I am getting back now. School holidays have just begun, though, so posting will still be a challenge for the next couple of months!
The Queen and Pr. Philip have such a busy week in Scotland. Tomorrow they are in Perth: 20 minutes at the local regimental museum, then 25 minutes at the local college, then a civic lunch…I don’t know how they do it, let alone with the easy charm and friendliness that we saw at the Garden Party on Tuesday. They seem to have more stamina than the rest of us put together.
OOOh look forward to stories of your adventures (when you have time and energy that is). I know several people (who would not know each other) who attended the garden party! Hope you had a good time and got to eat cake….
Thanks, Sian, coming up…!
Westies always seem to make sensible decisions ( and believe they deserve the preferred spots)
And it’s so nice to hear the Queen and Pr Phillip are relaxed and doing well. (We should all have her energy)
Yes, Westies are like cats in that respect. Would that I had a fraction of the Queen’s energy – I’m more like the Westie!
I have fellow feeling about the dearth of blog posts, though mine is more because of lack of inspiration than lack of time. I blame the wet weather – it rots the brain!
Hope you’re enjoying your travels.
Thanks, and I hope you’re enjoying yours too! The weather has been lovely above the jet stream, i.e. in the north and north-west of Scotland. Unfortunately, the jet stream is moving north at last, just in time for us to head off to the West Highlands – more rain then!
